We can help you determine which pathway and solution is right for your business and prepare your exit strategy and the impact of Broadcom’s new subscription-based licensing

If you’re considering transitioning from VMware to an alternative virtualisation stack, it can be challenging to know where to start.
With so many VMware alternatives to choose from, determining which option represents a ‘best match’ for your environment is a time consuming task.
After which you’ll need to develop a fail-safe migration pathway to your new environment. No easy task if you also need to consider other aspects of your VM environment such as networking, storage, security, disaster recovery and third party management tools – including hypervisors.
With the clock ticking down on your license renewal, you need to be certain you can engineer a risk-free migration to your chosen VMware alternative. And that is where Bell Integration is uniquely positioned to help.
We assess your immediate and long term goals, evaluate your existing VMware estate, and provide recommendations on the best and most cost-effective alternative for your business. Typically, the options for organisations that want to deploy virtual machines at scale fall into three platform categories:
We can help you determine which pathway and solution is right for your business and prepare your exit strategy.
We accelerate your journey to your new environment, ensuring that you are able to execute a seamless transition to your new environment. Our vClarus end-to-end methodology gives you a highly predictable process that mitigates risk and ensures you migrate on time – and within budget.

We conduct a full assessment of your existing VMware infrastructure, workloads and interdependencies and evaluate their compatibility with your target platform. We also establish performance baselines to ensure similar or improved performance in the new environment. We also assess the security and compliance standards of your new environment. Having evaluated all this, we identify the best migration approach.

We develop a detailed phased migration plan, establishing a clear communications plan to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the migration process. We document the entire migration process – including configurations and procedures - and ensure validation testing is in place for each phase of the migration process.

We configure the new environment to mirror your VMware setup as loosely as possible. This includes configurating virtual networks, security settings and storage options. We also ensure we update or replace drivers and software to ensure full compatibility with the new environment.

We ensure every component of the migrated environment functions as intended, undertaking load and security testing too validate performance and compliance meets organisational standards. Once the stability and performance of the new environment is assured, we export your VMs in a phased plan, ensuring that all data and settings are captured and resource allocations are optimised within the new environment.

Once your VMware alternative environment is up and running we take your old VMware platform offline and redirect traffic to the new VMs. We can also deliver training and support to your IT teams to ensure they are fully confident about managing your new platform.
With Bell Integration, you’ll be able to get the most out of your VMware investment and mitigate the impact of Broadcom’s new subscription-based licensing. You’ll also be able to make an informed decision on whether to ‘stick’ with VMware or consider alternative hypervisors or containerisation options.
